Bauchi Hisbah Destroys 260 Cartons Of Alcoholic Drinks (Photos)

 

Report reaching Becksblog.com.ng, that about 260 Cartons of alcohol drinks, has been destroyed by the Bauchi Islamic police also known as Hisbah in the Misau Local Government Area of the state.

While confirming the incident to newsmen on Sunday, May 30, in a statement by the Permanent Commissioner in charge of Hisbah, Barrister Aminu Isah, said the exercise was conducted in the presence of security agencies and the Chairman of the Bauchi State Shariah Commission.

Becksblog.com.ng learnt, that the alcoholic burning exercise, took place on Wednesday, May 26.

According to the commissioner, Hisbah acted based on Section 403 of the Bauchi State law which empowers it to stop the sale and consumption of alcohol in the state.

The statement reads;

“The state Hisbah command would like to reitrate its commitment and determination in ensuring that the provision of Sharia will continue to be fully implemented across the state and without vindictiveness, witchunt, fear or favour”.

“While we solicit for understanding and cooperation of all and sundry, the state Sharia commission wishes to appreciate the people of the state for their understanding and cooperation which serves as the catalyst for the successes recorded in making Bauchi a crime free society.”
