The Bauchi State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared a one-day warning strike scheduled for Tuesday to protest the recent 50% hike in telecom tariffs for calls and data.
NLC State Chairman, Dauda Shaibu, made this known to journalists on Monday after an Executive Council meeting at the NLC headquarters in Bauchi.
He emphasized that the strike aims to express displeasure over the Nigeria Communications Commission’s (NCC) decision to increase tariffs.
He urged all organized labor unions in the state to mobilize their members for full participation.
Shaibu also called on the federal government to address the concerns of workers and the general public, warning that failure to do so could lead to further industrial action.
