Blackface Claims The Plantashun Boiz Reunion Failed Because He Was Not Invited
Nigerian musician Blackface has shed light on why the anticipated reunion of Plantashun Boiz, the iconic group he formed with Tuface and Faze, did not materialize.
Speaking on the podcast Curiosity Made Me Ask, Blackface disclosed that he was not invited to the reunion plans, which ultimately led to their failure.
He revealed that his bandmates had made multiple attempts to regroup without him, but none were successful.
“Without me, they have tried and they have failed. Many times,” he said. “You saw them in all those shows that they were going. They tried but they failed.”
Expressing his belief in his pivotal role within the group, Blackface asserted, “I’m the plantation. So let it be known. Forget the fake memo that they spread before.”
Plantashun Boiz, formed in the early 2000s, is remembered as one of Nigeria’s most influential music groups, credited with several timeless hits.
However, their internal disagreements have often overshadowed their legacy, leading to the group’s eventual disbandment. Blackface’s recent comments highlight the enduring challenges in reviving the trio.
