Chidimma Adetshina has been crowned the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria, a title she won after an intense and glamorous competition.
The Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, known for its dazzling display of beauty, intelligence, and elegance, saw Chidimma, who entered the competition as Miss Taraba, emerge as the overall winner.
Chidimma’s journey to the crown was not without challenges. She previously withdrew from the Miss South Africa pageant due to negative online comments about her nationality and accusations of fraud by the South African Home Office.
These controversies made her participation in the Nigerian pageant all the more significant.
During the competition, the finalists showcased their elegance in evening gowns before the top five contestants were announced.
Alongside Chidimma Adetshina were Miss Anambra Paula Ezendu, Miss Edo Edeifo Brittany, Miss Ondo Ayegbidun Peace Olamide, and Miss Rivers Nyekachi Douglas.
The top three winners were then revealed, with Miss Ondo named Miss Lush, Miss Anambra as the first runner-up and Miss Supranational, and Chidimma Adetshina crowned as the overall winner.
In her acceptance speech, Chidimma expressed that the crown symbolizes more than just beauty, stating, “This crown is not just for beauty; it’s a call for unity.” Chidimma will now go on to represent Nigeria at the upcoming Miss Universe contest, where she aims to bring pride to her nation.
