The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Senator Dino Melaye, a prominent figure in Kogi politics, over allegations of anti-party activities.
The decision was announced by the executive committee of Ayetoro/Iluagba Ward 1, following a review of a disciplinary committee’s report investigating Melaye’s conduct.
The suspension, signed by the Ward Chairman, Abayomi Osamika, and Ward Secretary, Yodson Dayo, cited misconduct and actions detrimental to the party.
In a statement released by the Ward exco, it was noted, “Senator Dino Melaye’s conduct has brought embarrassment and disrepute to the party, making his continued membership untenable.”
The exco further stated that the suspension is in accordance with Article 59 (1) of the PDP constitution, which allows ward-level leadership to discipline members.
Melaye’s suspension is effective immediately, pending further investigations.
This marks a significant development in the PDP, as Melaye has been a vocal and influential figure within the party.
