Nigerian award-winning singer, Burna Boy, has taken a swipe at South Africans following the controversial outcome of the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant.
The renowned artist reacted on social media after Mia Le Roux, a Caucasian model from the Free State, won the crown, after a Nigerian model Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina withdrew from the competition.
Mia Le Roux’s victory has sparked widespread debate, particularly due to her background and her being the first Miss SA winner who is deaf and has a cochlear implant.
Despite the discussions surrounding her win, Mia will go on to represent South Africa at the Miss Universe 2024 competition in Mexico, making history as the first contestant with such a disability to participate in the global event.
Le Roux’s triumph comes with significant rewards, including the prestigious Mowana crown, a fully furnished luxury apartment, a Mercedes Benz, R1 million in cash, and other lavish prizes.
Burna Boy, known for his outspoken nature, couldn’t resist commenting on the outcome.
In a post on his social media page, he wrote, “So After ALL that………”, a statement widely interpreted as a jab at the South African pageantry for choosing a Caucasian winner.
His reaction has added fuel to the ongoing discourse surrounding the pageant’s results.
