Another Marlians victim identified as Matthew Aderoju, popularly known as DJ Splash, who was one of the Marlian Records’ in-house DJs, has shared his heartbreaking experience in the hands of Marlians.
Report says that Ash Splash, who is from Ikotun, Lagos, won DJ Consequence’s DJ competition in 2020.
In the months after, he was introduced to Naira Marley, who signed him to Marlian Records.
Naira Marley introduced this young man to a different lifestyle entirely to the extent he forgot about his family and friends and his numbers stop connecting.
Some months later, he decided to call his mom and drop just words. He said, ‘If I die today, hold Naira Marley responsible’.
He however, dropped his address with his mom and when the mom reached there, she saw her boy sleeping outside with his luggages. The single mother demanded to see Naira Marley, but she was told that he is not around.
She brought back her son home and started treating him since then.
According to Gistlovergram, that DJ Splash’s mother who confirmed this via telephone, said;
“Hello Gistlover this is Dj splash’ Mother speaking. My son won the Dj consequence show and he was given 100k cash. He is very good at what he does. He started Going for different shows on the Island. He met Zlatan and Zlatan introduced him to Naira Marley. Naira Marley commented on how Good my son was, I have the videos here. Naira Marley told my son to work with him. My son was happy and he came home to tell me the Good News. We video called Naira Marley and I told Naira Marley that I want my son to Go to school after learning work. Naira Marley said he’ll send my son to school and pay for all the bills. I Allowed my son to go eventually.
As soon as he left, I stopped hearing from him. I called and called until one day he picked my call. I asked about his well being and he said he was fine. One day he called and asked for money. I was shocked. I told if you are not treated well come back home. He called another day crying that I should come and pick him. He said I shouldn’t trust anyone even naira Marley. We got to the island at night and met my son outside on a street which name I can’t remember. My son said he couldn’t remember anything. Ha! who do I want to call. I don’t know anyone. I took my son home and we’ve been taking care of him.
I have sold my properties. I am in debt because of this dilemma. All the medicine I bought he won’t use it. There are times I payed 150k, 250k 100k, and so on so he’ll be taken care of , but all is to no avail. He said he won’t eat or use the medicine until he sees Naira Marley. He tried to jump into The Well one time. There are times he’ll order Uber and comeback home with debt of 20k and I’ll have to start borrowing money from my neighbors. The Uber drivers don’t know he’s not alright. We had to chain him down. Till now my son is in Chains. No help, Nigerians please help me”, DJ Splash’s mother cried out.
