Chris Brown has opened up about his past, addressing the infamous 2009 incident with fellow singer Rihanna, where he was charged with felony assault.
Speaking about the aftermath, Brown emphasized the regret and pain the situation caused both personally and publicly.
“After our incident, I was so broken. I have daughters, and I’ll never want someone to treat them like that,” Brown shared. “I apologized, and we are good, but that incident left a stain on my name. Dear men, no matter how angry you are, don’t hit a woman.”
Reflecting on the emotional turmoil that followed, Brown revealed that he wrote over 20 unreleased apology songs dedicated to Rihanna but chose not to release them. “I wrote so many songs about her but couldn’t release them,” he said.
The 2009 altercation, which occurred the night before the Grammy Awards, left a significant mark on both their careers.
After a heated argument, Brown physically assaulted Rihanna, causing visible injuries.
He later pled guilty to felony assault and underwent probation, community service, and domestic violence counseling.
