The Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, recently launched the distribution of 19 truckloads of rice across Kano’s 44 local government areas.
The ceremony, held on Sunday, was part of the federal government’s initiative to provide palliatives to vulnerable populations amid the ongoing global economic challenges exacerbated by the Ukraine-Russia conflict and other crises.
Senator Jibrin emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is committed to alleviating the hardships faced by Nigerians, particularly those in rural and urban areas.
He acknowledged the impact of international conflicts on the global economy and stressed the importance of domestic programs designed to ease these difficulties.
The distribution faced some initial challenges, leading to the formation of a specialized committee in Kano to ensure that aid reaches the grassroots effectively.
Senator Jibrin praised the president for his efforts and urged Nigerians to unite in support of President Tinubu’s initiatives, advocating for collective action to address national issues regardless of political or religious differences.
