In a heated social media exchange, popular Nigerian singer Falz has issued a stern ultimatum to social media activist Verydarkman, demanding the withdrawal of alleged defamatory statements made against him and his father, renowned lawyer and human rights activist Femi Falana.
The drama unfolded on Wednesday, September 25, when Falz took to Instagram, tagging Verydarkman in a post and giving him 24 hours to retract his claims or face legal action.
This response comes in light of Verydarkman’s recent audio leak that implicates not only Falz and his father but also prominent figures like Bobrisky and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in alleged corrupt practices.
The audio in question features Bobrisky, a well-known Nigerian crossdresser, claiming he paid 15 million Naira to the EFCC to drop money laundering charges against him.
Despite this payment, he was ultimately prosecuted, resulting in a six-month prison sentence. Bobrisky also alleged that he did not serve his sentence in a traditional prison but rather in a private arrangement facilitated by influential contacts.
In a twist, Bobrisky asserted that Falz and his father had contacted him prior to his release, with Femi Falana allegedly facilitating a pardon in exchange for 10 million Naira.
However, Falz has categorically denied these allegations, stating simply, “24 hours @verydarkblackman.”
