The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested ten members of a human trafficking and child abduction ring and rescued 21 children.
State Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Hayatu Kaigama, announced this at the command headquarters in the state capital on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
One of the suspects, Bala Abubakar from Tudun Wada in Sokoto, is accused of selling 28 children, including six of his own.
The suspects allegedly sold the children to Kulu Dongoyaro and Elizabeth Ojah for between N150,000 and N250,000, claiming they were being sent to an NGO in Abuja for their welfare.
