Sunday Ajayi, father of Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, a gospel singer and content creator accused of the tragic death of Corps member Salome Eleojo Adaidu, has appealed to the Nigerian government for his son’s release.
In an emotional interview on Monday, 20th January, Sunday Ajayi pleaded for mercy, stating, “I want the government to help me so that the matter will be settled. I want them to help me beg so that he will be released.”
The incident, which has sparked widespread outrage, occurred on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Agwan Sarki, Orozo, a community bordering the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Timileyin Ajayi was apprehended after being found in possession of sensitive evidence tied to the case, including a bag containing severed head of Salome Eleojo Adaidu.
Salome Eleojo Adaidu, the victim, was a serving Corps member in Abuja with a promising future ahead of her.
The suspect initially claimed she was his girlfriend and cited infidelity as the motive behind the act.
However, Salome’s family has refuted these claims, stating she had no relationship with the suspect.
Following his arrest, Timileyin Ajayi was arraigned in a Nasarawa State High Court and remanded in custody while investigations continue.
The case has ignited public debate over justice and accountability, with many demanding swift action to ensure the victim’s family receives justice.
The father’s plea has drawn mixed reactions, with some expressing sympathy for his position as a parent while others insist that justice must be served without compromise.
Meanwhile, the Nasarawa State Police Command has assured the public of a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter.
The case remains under investigation, and more updates are expected as it progresses.
