The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, June 12, as a public holiday in honor of this year’s Democracy Day.
Becksblog.com.ng, understands that the announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement from the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, on Tuesday.
In the statement, Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians and urged them to reflect on the contributions of the country’s founding fathers, emphasizing the importance of maintaining unity, security, peace, and indivisibility in Nigeria.
He encouraged citizens to remain dedicated to democratic principles.
Tunji-Ojo also highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to economic reforms and enhancing security.
The statement concluded by urging Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to acknowledge the progress achieved and to anticipate a brighter future for the nation’s democracy.
