Nigerian fish pie seller, popularly known as “Fish Pie Guy,” has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians, saying he is now struggling to survive despite his brief fame.
The vendor, who captured public attention with his unique style of hawking fish pies, revealed during a recent interview that his financial situation has become dire.
He stated that after gaining celebrity status, he was approached by numerous public figures and content creators who used him for content but offered no financial support in return.
“I can barely feed. Everyone used me. I have nothing, please, Nigerians help me,” he lamented, explaining how his current struggles have been masked by public assumptions that he had received help from celebrities.
The “Fish Pie Guy” further revealed that although his sudden rise to fame brought him millions of views and engagements for those who collaborated with him, his own business has suffered greatly.
“Everyone that came to me used me. They used me to get millions of views and abandoned me after. No one gave me money,” he stated.
He added that his shop is now empty, and he has received minimal financial assistance despite the widespread publicity surrounding his brand.
The seller has now turned to the public, appealing for support to revive his business and sustain himself.
His emotional plea has sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users expressing sympathy while others question the extent of support he may have received behind the scenes.
