A sëx worker has been brutally murdered; the identity of the victim could not be determined at the time this report was filed.
There were rumors that the sëx worker in the Ifo region of Ogun State was ritually killed. On the other hand, Raman Akande, the suspect, has been taken into custody by the Ogun police.
In a police confession, Akande claimed that the victim was murdered by him and two other people.
He claims that Ifa, one of his accomplices, assured him that if he took part in the ritual, he would receive ₦100,000.
According to him, he went ahead and hired the victim, promising to pay her ₦3,000 in exchange for her spending the night at his house.
The victim complied. In his now-translated Yoruba narrative, Akande told how, after she had accompanied him to his house, he hired a friend named Ijebu to execute the murder.
He continued, saying, “She fell to the ground after Ijebu struck her in the head with a piece of wood.”
“I dragged her inside after she fell. Before Ifa killed her, I was the one holding her legs and Ijebu was holding her hands.
“He collected her blood with a calabash after Ifa had killed her. I consented to take part in the procedure since Ifa assured me that I would receive ₦100,000.
“The woman is a commercial sex worker that I have always used in the past; she is not my girlfriend. Normally, I would give her ₦1,000, but when I went to pick her up, I made a promise to give her ₦3,000.”
