Nollywood actress and mother of four, Chacha Eke, has shared a heartfelt account of how the iconic song Mr Lecturer by Eedris Abdulkareem saved her during her university days at Ebonyi State University.
In a detailed post, Chacha recounted an unsettling encounter with a lecturer notorious for exploiting female students in exchange for grades.
She described herself as a confident and self-sufficient student during that period.
However, during an examination, the lecturer approached her and scribbled the dreaded words “SEE ME!!!” on her answer sheet, a well-known tactic of his for luring unsuspecting students.
Fearing the worst but determined to navigate the situation, Chacha prepared herself mentally and went to meet him in his office.
She noted the lecturer’s office was disturbingly equipped with a bed, further confirming his intentions.
As the lecturer began making advances, touching her shoulders and complimenting her, Chacha’s phone suddenly rang, and her ringtone, Eedris Abdulkareem’s Mr Lecturer, echoed through the room.
The lyrics of the song, which condemn lecturers who prey on students, seemed to jolt the man’s conscience.
He immediately withdrew and asked her to leave.
Chacha concluded her story by thanking God for saving her and urging prayers for young female students facing similar situations.
This revelation has sparked conversations about the abuse of power in academic institutions and the importance of standing up against exploitation.
