Protesters in Jos, Plateau State, have refused to call off their demonstrations against bad governance despite a direct appeal from President Bola Tinubu on Sunday morning during a live broadcast.
The protesters, who have been vocal under the hashtag #EndBadGovernance, organized a church service at the Old Airport Roundabout on Sunday, turning the site of their protest into a place of worship and reflection.
The move comes after President Tinubu urged the demonstrators to end their protests, promising to address their concerns. However, the protesters remain unconvinced, demanding concrete actions rather than assurances.
“We are here to pray for our country and for true change,” said one protester, who asked to remain anonymous. “We will not be silenced until we see real improvements in governance.”
The church service was attended by a large number of protesters, who sang hymns, prayed, and listened to sermons that emphasized the need for justice, accountability, and good governance in Nigeria.
Multiple report revealed that the Jos protest, has been one of the most peaceful protest Nigeria ever witnessed.
