Popular Nollywood actor now Lagos State politician, Desmond Elliot, has strongly denied allegations about his sexuality following a viral blog post by Gistlover that listed him among several Nigerian celebrities allegedly involved in same-$ex relationships.
The post, which quickly gained traction online, sparked heated debates and reactions across social media platforms.
In a statement, Elliot dismissed the claims as baseless and unfounded. “It is crazy how you just wake up one morning and people are spreading lies about you.
I have kids and a wife; you really think I am gay? I know I’m not even supposed to respond to such rumors, but I just want to set the record straight. I am not gay. I am as straight as a needle,” he declared.
The actor further criticized the sensationalism surrounding the rumors, attributing them to an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
“Why would I respond to allegations made against me when it did not reduce or increase my life?” he questioned, emphasizing that his focus remains on his work and making a positive impact.
Elliot also warned of legal action against the originators of the rumors. “Gistlover, whoever put my name on that list will face the law,” he stated, signaling his intent to hold those responsible accountable.
As an actor-turned-politician, Elliot has often found himself in the spotlight, navigating both acclaim and criticism.
Despite the controversies, he reaffirmed his commitment to public service and maintaining integrity in his personal life.
Social media remains abuzz with reactions, with many fans rallying behind the star while others call for clarity on the broader allegations.
