Senegalese-American singer, Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, better known as Akon, has revealed that in the whole of music industry, he is very proud to say that he is the only rapper who doesn’t do drugs, drink alcohol nor smoke.
The producer who appreciates his dad for disciplining him while growing up, recounted how he once tried to wrap a weed, but he was caught by his father and the old man gave him the beating of his life.
The popular singer and entrepreneur is a Muslim and married to a Christian woman.
While revealing this recently in an interview, Akon said;
“I get dizzy when someone smokes near me, like I just hate it. I once tried to wrap a blunt, but my dad sneaked behind me and whipped me😅 so if I’m not smoking today, it’s all thanks to my dad, I decided to never smoke. Growing up, I was never pressed by péer pressure. You couldn’t make me do what I knew wasn’t right. It couldn’t just happen because I always sort to uphold all the morals my dad taught me.”
