Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has shared his personal reasons for avoiding appointments with women in hotel rooms, citing a history of uncomfortable encounters.
In a candid statement, Michael revealed that he often receives calls from women claiming to have business opportunities, only for these meetings to take an unexpected turn.
He recounted a particular incident in Asaba, where a woman invited him to a hotel under the guise of discussing a professional matter.
“She told me, ‘Zubem, you act so well like a bad guy, please do me this bad thing so I can keep your memories in my head forever,'” Michael recalled. Despite his efforts to explain his principles, the woman reportedly threatened to set him up if he did not comply.
Michael likened the situation to the biblical story of Joseph and Potiphar’s wife, describing how he had to flee to avoid compromising his values.
He emphasized that his on-screen persona is purely fictional, and he does not live the lifestyle some might assume based on his roles in films.
In his message to women, he urged them to stop attempting to manipulate him and reiterated, “If I should have time for all that, how many litres of akamu go remain for my drum?”
With a lighthearted plea, Michael called for an end to such behavior, stressing that he is committed to maintaining his integrity both on and off-screen.
