Dorcas Ajayi, the mother of Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, a gospel singer and content creator, has called on the government to ensure justice is served for the family of late Salome Eleojo Adaidu, a serving Corps member in Abuja, who tragically lost her life in a horrific incident.
Speaking during an interview on Monday, 20th January, 2025 at the family compound in Orozo, a community bordering Abuja and Nasarawa State, Dorcas Ajayi expressed devastation and condemned her son’s actions.
She stated, “If it was one of my daughters they did that to, how would I feel? The government can do anything they want to do. Everything is in their hands.”
The shocking incident occurred on Sunday, January 12, 2025, when Timileyin Ajayi was apprehended carrying a polythene bag containing Salome’s severed head.
He later confessed to ending her life, alleging infidelity.
However, Salome’s family denied the suspect’s claims, affirming that she was not in a relationship with him.
During her interview, Dorcas Ajayi insisted her son must face the consequences of his actions under Nigerian law. “If my son has done this, he should be punished accordingly. Everything is in the hands of government,” she stated firmly.
Salome Eleojo Adaidu, described by her family as a promising young woman, was completing her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abuja.
Her tragic death has sparked outrage across social media, with many demanding justice and stronger measures to curb such acts.
The Nasarawa State Police Command has assured the public of a thorough investigation into the matter.
More updates will follow as the case unfolds.
