Jennifer Lopez, 55, has filed for divorce from her 52-year-old husband, Ben Affleck, after two years of marriage.
The filing was made on Tuesday at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, as confirmed by court documents seen by the BBC.
The Hollywood power couple, often referred to as “Bennifer,” officially tied the knot in July 2022 in a Las Vegas ceremony, followed by a grander celebration in Georgia the following month.
Their relationship first blossomed nearly two decades earlier when they met on the set of the 2003 film *Gigli*. Initially engaged in 2003, they called off their relationship in early 2004 but rekindled their romance almost 20 years later.
Lopez, who had legally taken Affleck’s last name, did not detail any prenuptial agreements in her divorce petition.
The court documents state that both parties are required to disclose their financial information, including income, expenses, properties, and debts, within a specified period.
The couple, who have been the subject of relationship speculation for months, were also reported to have put their Beverly Hills mansion on the market for $65 million.
Lopez’s filing mandates that she submit her financial disclosure within 60 days, after which Affleck will have another 60 days to provide his information.
Failure to comply with these financial reporting requirements could lead to court-imposed sanctions.
Representatives for Lopez and Affleck have yet to comment on the matter.
