The Katsina State Government, under the leadership of Governor Dikko Radda, has approved the immediate release of N300 million for electricity projects at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina.
The move is aimed at restoring power supply and enhancing security within the university premises.
According to a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Faskari, the funds will be directed towards two key projects.
The first project, worth N216.3 million, involves the replacement of the 33KVA indoor control panel and other essential accessories responsible for powering the university.
The second project, valued at N98.2 million, focuses on installing solar security lights to curb vandalism and enhance safety across the campus.
The statement, which was signed by the Director of Press, Abdullahi Yar’adua, and made available to newsmen on Saturday, emphasized the importance of these projects in addressing the electricity challenges faced by the institution and improving overall security.
