The Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of prominent cryptocurrency trader Linus Williams, also known as BLord.
BLord was detained in Abuja on Tuesday, July 16, on charges related to cryptocurrency fraud, financing terrorism, and supporting internet fraud through his enterprises.
According to the Force’s spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, the arrest was a result of complaints filed against his businesses, as stated on X.
Adejobi stated: “The FCID (NPF-NCCC) is currently investigating complaints against Blord Group, Blord Real Estate Ltd, Blord Jetpaye Limited, and Billpoint Technology.
“These allegations include cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, terrorism financing, and non-compliance with regulatory frameworks.
“We will conduct a thorough investigation. Ensuring the safety and security of our cyberspace is our priority. We are committed to this goal.”
