Meet Dohmel Samson, 12-year-old Jos Pencil Artist (Photos)

It has long come to the world’s attention that people of accomplishment rarely sit back and let things happen to them; they go out and make things happen.

A little story about Dohmel Samson, a 12-year old pencil artist from Jos, Plateau State.

This young talented pencil artist, was discovered by a Facebook user, identified as Charles Obinwa EL Uno also known as Charles The Talking Pen who shared the young man’s creative works on his Facebook page.

According to the poster, the artist is a JSS1 student at the Rochas Foundation College in Jos.

He however, said that the boy’s mother (name withheld) wanted to enroll him in an art school, but due to lack of money, she could not.

Also, while in an interview with the artist, he said he wants to make it big in the painting career so as to take care of his single mother and siblings.

In the post shared by Charles The Talking Pen, he wrote;

“THE 12YRS OLD PENCIL ARTIST!

Good evening people!

Finally, I present to you Dohmel Samson! A 12yr old Pencil Artist from Pankshin LGA, Plateau State. He is a JSS1 student of Rochas Foundation.

Here are some of his amazing pencil sketches. Most of these drawings were done a year or two years ago. His interest is waning as the day goes by because of funds to even buy basic things like Pencils, cardboards and other things he needs to accomplish this hobby.

The motivation and financial support he gets from his Mum (a single parent) is what keeps him going on.

Help us share to your walls and social media handles, lets help this boy achieve his dreams of being a successful Artist.

During the interview session with him (Video will be out soon), he said “I want to grow and be more professional, also use my skill to help my Mother and siblings in anyway possible. My mother has been supportive of me….”.

His mum (The Lady in the pictures), was all tears as she thanked the whole team for turning up to even recognize this boy, she has tried enrolling him in an Art shop, where he can be more tutored in this skill, but she couldn’t keep up with the expected pay due to the economic situation she is in…

The ‘Charles The Taking Pen’ brand is committed to using it’s platform to project the so many talents that abound in the state and beyond. We will be giving every talent a voice to be heard!

Check out his works, with some behind the scenes shots of the session.
