The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, assuring that his policies will soon yield positive results.
She made this call on Wednesday during a relief distribution event in Anambra State, where she donated essential items to alleviate the economic hardship faced by residents.
As part of the federal government’s efforts to ease the current economic challenges, Mrs. Kennedy-Ohanenye distributed 5,000 10kg bags of rice, 500 bags of fertilizer, and 300 3kg gas cylinders to families in Anambra.
The initiative is aimed at providing immediate relief to those most affected by the rising cost of living.
Speaking at the event, the minister expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s economic policies, emphasizing that they would bring long-term benefits to the country. “I appeal to you to be patient with him; in no distant time, his policies will begin to yield results, and we will all benefit immensely,” she stated.
The distribution also highlighted the government’s ongoing social welfare programs designed to support vulnerable citizens. Mrs. Kennedy-Ohanenye encouraged residents to take full advantage of these initiatives.
Basil Ejidike, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, commended President Tinubu’s administration for providing support to the state’s poor and vulnerable population.
“President Tinubu has our support, and we will work to ensure APC wins come 2027 in Anambra State,” he affirmed.
This gesture underscores the federal government’s commitment to addressing the nation’s economic challenges and supporting Nigerians during these trying times.
