Hanifa, a 26-year-old woman, shared her heartbreaking story of being divorced by her husband just two hours after their wedding. The reason behind the divorce was her admission of being childless and not a virgin, which she had hidden from him.
Hanifa revealed that prior to her marriage, she had been in relationships with two men and had become pregnant. The uncertainty of paternity led to both men denying responsibility.
She faced the daunting task of raising her child alone, resorting to selling garments on the streets to support herself and her child.
Speaking to Radio interview, she shared: “In 2019, I fell in love for the first time, but the relationship ended after two years because he was unfaithful.
I shared my experience with other women, and many said their husbands made similar mistakes.
“I later fell for another man, but his financial struggles led me to date two men simultaneously. This situation complicated things, and I couldn’t identify my child’s father. Both men denied paternity, leaving me confused and desperate.
“After giving birth, I raised my child without any support. It was tough, but I eventually found a job selling clothes, which helped me regain my confidence. I later met a wealthy man who loved me. However, I lied about my past, claiming I was single and childless.
“We fell in love, and he respected my claim of being a virgin. He even asked me to quit my job, promising to support me financially.
“Despite our growing trust, I continued hiding the truth. When we decided to marry, I introduced him to my family and asked them to keep my secret. They warned me, but I didn’t listen.
“On our wedding night, fearing the consequences of my lies, I confessed everything to him. He was furious and said he couldn’t trust me, leaving the hotel immediately and ending our marriage.
“I tried to reach out to him, but he refused to listen, calling me deceitful and telling me to stop pursuing him.”
