Nollywood Yoruba actress Ramota Adetu, widely known as Aunty Ramota, has made an emotional appeal for support from the public, revealing her current struggles with homelessness and financial hardship.
In a video that has since gone viral, the actress disclosed the harsh realities of her situation, detailing her troubles with mismanagement and betrayal.
Aunty Ramota, recognized for her roles in Yoruba films including her recent appearance in the popular Anikulapo series by Kunle Afolayan, claimed her management team took her earnings and even deleted her TikTok and other social media accounts, further isolating her from her fans and income sources.
“I am currently stranded without accommodation,” she explained.
“The lady I was staying with got married and asked me to leave, as her husband was uncomfortable with me staying there.”
The actress expressed further frustrations, saying a supporter who was helping her construct her own home had to halt the project.
Now, she is left without funds to secure a place to live.
“I worked so hard, but they kept cheating me because they thought I would not know how much we were really making,” she lamented.
Aunty Ramota shared that she declined a temporary housing offer, hoping instead to complete construction on her house, even if it’s only one room, where she can finally settle.
The actress’s plea has sparked conversations across social media as fans and well-wishers express their support, with many urging for swift intervention to aid her in finding stability.
