A native doctor, Ismail Usman, has been hospitalized after a failed attempt to test the effectiveness of a ‘bulletproof’ charm in Kuchibuyi Village, Kubwa, Abuja.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command reported that the incident occurred on Friday, November 29, 2024.
According to the police, Usman allegedly injured himself while testing the charm’s potency.
He was quickly transported to the Kubwa General Hospital for emergency treatment and later transferred to the Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital for further medical care.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed that Usman would face charges, including unlawful possession of firearms and an attempt to harm himself, under Section 231 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria.
Authorities have cautioned the public against engaging in dangerous and unscientific practices, urging lawful approaches to personal safety.
