German tactician Bruno Labbadia has reportedly turned down the role of head coach for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, according to German publication Kicker.
This decision comes after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had earlier announced his appointment.
The NFF revealed Labbadia as the new head coach in a tweet on Tuesday, stating that an agreement had been reached.
The federation’s General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, confirmed that the NFF Executive Committee approved the Technical and Development sub-committee’s recommendation.
However, it appears that Labbadia and the NFF could not finalize details concerning salary and other terms of employment, leading to his rejection of the offer.
The NFF has yet to release an official statement on this development.
