According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations, that Nigeria is the number one country who has the largest production of yams worldwide.
The analysis was based on a comparison of 44 countries in the world.
At as of 2022, Nigeria was said to have produced about 61,171 kt.
