ERIC’S STORY
Eric: Our story is an interesting one and if love is a risk then I’m proud to say that this was one risk I’m happy I took.
Do you ever have a feeling/ conviction in your heart that this is what you want to happen and you believe that no matter how long it takes, it would definitely find a way of happening?
Yes, that is our love story.
It’s funny how a lot of people don’t know how we met and truth be told, it’s a bit fuzzy to me because we met on Facebook (yes you read right, Facebook) in 2014 and honestly I can’t remember who sent the friend request, but one of us did and the other accepted.
We exchanged numbers but remained on and off friends online.
Talking to her was easy, it was like talking to a friend I had known for a long time.
After that year, there was a break in communication and in 2018, her thought just came into my mind.
I felt this prompting in my spirit to call her and when I did, she didn’t even know which of the Erics because according to her, she knew two; I and her cousin.
We began to talk more and have serious conversations, I even became really attached to her.
One day, I asked if she could come visit in Zaria and though we have not physically met and she hasn’t been to zaria before, she obliged and that made me really excited, I even offered to cook for her.
Even before she agreed to come, I told myself that if she agrees to come see me, then she is my wife (note that I had not even asked her to be my girlfriend yet o). The very day she came to visit I told her I loved her and would want to spend the rest of my life with her, she thought I was joking so she didn’t reply but we kept on talking and everything was going well.
Three months later she accepted to be my girlfriend. I couldn’t still pronounce her name Zipporah and it always made her laugh so I asked if she would let me give her another name and she agreed.
So I coined her a name I’d personally call her and after so much thought and deliberation I coined the word Miliana and to me it means SUNSHINE.
She is someone I have always yearned for in my life, she is my dream come true, she is the compass to my road, and if I was given an opportunity to pick a life partner again, I’ll still pick her over and over again in a heartbeat.
She is going to be the reason why God’s purpose in my life would be achieved because she is my help meet.
(ZIPPORAH) MILIANA’S STORY
Alaye and I met on Facebook in 2014 and it was at a time when I was new to the app, I had few friends so I was quite active on the app.
I noticed him on Facebook because of how well he loved to celebrate people’s birthdays, he did it so well that almost everyday he had some to celebrate on his timeline.
We got talking and exchanged numbers. I being the conversationist, would always call for gist and sometimes, he misses the calls because he was busy of course, but I thought I was being a pest at some point you know.
Nevertheless, when he returns my calls and we have long interesting conversations.
Due to some reasons, we lost communication and I even forgot I knew an Eric Ojogba not until 2018 when I received a call from an unfamiliar number, the person on the other end of the call introduced himself as Eric my Facebook friend.
I was surprised that he remembered me to even call.
Our friendship rekindled and we picked it up from where we left off in 2014.
We grew so close and we had lots of long conversations over the phone.
In one of our conversations, he invited me over to come visit him in zaria. He even offered to cook swallow that I’m not a fan of, with okro soup. After a little deliberation with myself, I agreed to come to zaria for a wedding and to also see him and leave the same day.
After the wedding I was to see him and I got lost in zaria. My phone was low and because of how ignorant I was of my environment, I was at the mercy of bus drivers, Keke drivers and bike men. When I finally got a hold of him on the phone, that was when he gave me the final description of my destination and immediately, my phone died.
I still took the bike and went there with the hope of seeing him at the junction. I still told myself that if I get there and I don’t see him I’ll just go back to Kaduna since the visit was a friendly one, I had no expectations what so ever.
I sincerely believe that it was destined for me to see him that day because as I was about to give up and leave, that was when I saw him.
We went to the house and upon my arrival, true to his word, he cooked what he promised. When he saw me off, he then uttered words that I didn’t expect to hear that day.
He said he loved me, “lol ha just like that, you’re just seeing me for the first time” was what came to my mind. I entered the vehicle back to Kaduna without saying a word concerning what he said.
Even without my reply to his statement, he still kept on calling and our conversations where not awkward. There was never a dull moment of conversation with him.
He eventually asked me out and I agreed. One day he came up with the name Miliana and that actually sent butterflies in my tummy. It was better than the way he pronounced Zipporah so I had no problem with it.
He is someone I am glad to be with, he is very intentional about me and all that concerns me, I am grateful to God for letting our parts cross and with him I am ready to spend forever and a day more.
Congratulations to you both.
