The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has initiated an investigation into the murder of a well-known crossdresser, popularly known as ‘Abuja Area Mama,’ whose body was discovered in the Mabushi area of Abuja on Thursday morning, August 8.
According to a statement by Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, officers were dispatched to the scene after a distress call was received about an unidentified person lying motionless along the Katampe-Mabushi expressway.
Upon arrival, the police found a man dressed in female clothing with no identification.
The victim was transported to Maitama District Hospital, where doctors confirmed him death.
This tragic incident has triggered an outpouring of grief, particularly among the fans and followers of ‘Abuja Area Mama.’
The murder comes just days after another prominent crossdresser, Bobrisky, was released from jail after serving a sentence for currency mutilation.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT, has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death.
