A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member has taken to social media to express his frustration after receiving a transportation allowance of ₦3,600 from the Federal Government.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the corps member humorously tagged GIG Mobility, pleading with the transport company to accept the amount as his fare for a return trip from the Southwest to Jos, Plateau State.
He wrote:
“The Federal Government of Nigeria has sent me transport fare to head back home after my NYSC. Dear @GIGMobility, I hope you can accept this and take me back to Jos, Plateau State, from the Southwest.”
The corps member also attached a screenshot of the payment, voicing his disbelief at the minimal sum and raising concerns about the practicalities of covering long-distance travel expenses with such an amount.
The post has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences or criticizing the inadequacy of the allowance, especially in light of rising transport costs across the country.
As of now, there has been no response from GIG Mobility or the NYSC regarding the corps member’s plea.
