The Plateau State Government has prohibited the obstruction of access roads by worship centers.
This announcement was reported by Plateau Journal and signed by Hart Bankat, the General Manager of the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB).
The statement reads: “Following Executive Order 003 issued by Governor Caleb Mutfwang on March 1, 2024, for the regulation of building and vehicular traffic, we announce the ban on blocking access roads and advise all worship centers to provide suitable parking spaces off the main roads for their congregants.”
The statement further states: “All worship centers must obtain building approvals from the JMDB to avoid penalties.”
“The government urges spiritual leaders to advise their members to be law-abiding citizens and to encourage them to comply with the established laws.”
