As a result of the ongoing Speakership crisis, the Plateau state police command has sealed the state house of assembly complex.
It was gathered that a team of anti-riot police men arrived at the assembly complex by 6am and barricaded the main entrance.
Our correspondent reports that the Impeached speaker rtd Hon. Abok Nuhu Ayuba had resumed duty as speaker of the house taking over the office premises of the speaker after the court reinstated him on Monday .
Hon. Abok reportedly drove into the Assembly complex a few minutes before 9am on Tuesday and then headed straight to the Speaker’s office in the company of some lawmakers.
Though the police command is yet to issue an official statement on the action, our correspondent learnt that it is not unconnected to the brewing crisis among members of the house of assembly.
The house is divided into two factions, with one loyal to the current speaker Rt. Hon Yakubu Sanda, and the other loyal to the reinstated speaker Rt. Hon Ayuba Abok who was impeached in October 2021.
