Popular Nigerian actor, Ayo Emmanuel, known for his recurring roles as a police officer in Nollywood movies, has passed away. His demise was seen by Becksblog on social media.
According to a close family source, the actor had been in the hospital battling prostate cancer before he died on the morning of Wednesday, October 23.
Ayo Sesan Emmanuel, often fondly called “Uncle Ayo,” was widely recognized for his contribution to the Nigerian movie industry.
In a heartfelt tribute, one of his close friends, Mickey Odey, shared his grief on Facebook.
Recalling their brotherly bond, Mickey wrote: “You never failed to call me your brother from another mother whenever we were together, that was how much you valued and respected me… Just a few months ago, we were together when I was robbed, only to hear just 2 weeks ago that you fell ill.”
Mickey also narrated how he had sent money to the actor during his hospitalization, hoping for his recovery.
“I called you while you were still in the hospital, and you told me you were better… Why did you have to leave like this, my brother Ayo Sesan Emmanuel? May your gentle soul rest in paradise.”
Ayo Emmanuel’s death has left a deep void in Nollywood, where he was cherished not just for his acting but for the relationships he built throughout his career.
