Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has made a significant contribution of N500 million to aid victims of the devastating floods in Borno State.
In addition to the financial support, he led a team of 50 medical personnel from North-East states to provide crucial assistance to the overstretched medical facilities in the region.
During his visit to Governor Babagana Zulum at the Government House in Maiduguri, Seyi revealed that the medical team is already working on the ground and will remain in the state for several days to stabilize the health situation.
The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Noella Foundation, also included donations of medical supplies, food, and non-food items, aimed at supporting 50,000 children and adults affected by the disaster.
Seyi assured Governor Zulum that this donation is just the beginning, with more aid expected in the coming days.
He emphasized that his actions align with President Tinubu’s call for increased support to the flood victims and highlighted the need for sustained efforts until all displaced persons are given the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
“This gesture is in response to President Tinubu’s call to support the victims,” said Seyi Tinubu, commending the resilience of the people of Borno and Governor Zulum’s strong leadership in facing the disaster.
In his response, Governor Zulum expressed deep gratitude for the assistance, stating that the contributions would be used effectively to make the maximum impact on the beneficiaries.
He also thanked President Tinubu and First Lady Remi Tinubu for their continued support and urged Seyi to convey the heartfelt gratitude of Borno’s people to his father.
During his visit, Seyi Tinubu, alongside his brother Yinka, paid a courtesy call on the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Umar-Garbai El-Kanemi, further demonstrating the Tinubu family’s commitment to the state’s recovery efforts.
This initiative underscores the importance of collaboration in times of crisis, with the Tinubu family’s actions serving as an example of leadership and compassion in the face of adversity.
