A prominent aviation expert has stirred up social media with a bold statement, alleging that no Nigerian singer, including international superstar Davido, owns a private jet.
This came in response to a viral post from a fan of Burna Boy, who claimed the Grammy-winning artist had his own jet.
In the viral post, a fan captioned a video with, “Burna Boy getting off his private jet last night in Abuja,” sparking discussions about Nigerian musicians’ luxury lifestyles.
However, businessman and co-founder of a private jet charter company, @LaceVine, was quick to counter this, claiming that no Nigerian music artist owns a private jet, stating that most charter flights for their travels.
“Nobody owns a jet in the Nigerian music industry. It’s all charter, apart from Davido who flies his Dad’s jet,” @LaceVine stated, emphasizing that his intention wasn’t to belittle any artist but to offer clarity.
He further added that chartering a jet isn’t a form of “fake life,” noting the high costs associated with private air travel.
Fans have since taken to social media to share their reactions.
One X user, @odogwu_joeblaq, responded, “We know. Many are just surprised you opened a certain artist’s nyansh in the market. But all is well.”
Another, @onlyonefabzofph, humorously commented, “I thought Davido had one pj worth billions and an extra one, making it three.”
The debate over whether Nigerian artists own jets or simply rent them continues, igniting conversation about the opulent lifestyles portrayed in the music industry.
