Rudeboy Engages Lawyer Over Peter’s New Song In Psquare Copyright Battle
The long-standing rift between Nigerian music duo Psquare, comprising twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, has taken another dramatic turn as Paul, popularly known as Rudeboy, reached out to Peter through a lawyer amid a dispute over music rights.
The conflict resurfaced following the release of Peter’s latest single, Attention, which Rudeboy alleged was sampled from his unreleased album set to debut in June 2025.
Rudeboy claims he co-wrote the song and has demanded its removal from music platforms.
In response, Peter, known as Mr. P, took to Instagram to address the controversy, vehemently denying the allegations.
He stated that he and the music producer, @calypso60music, wrote the song independently and dismissed Rudeboy’s claims as baseless.
Peter’s post read: “Call us names, call us childish; it is fine. I understand, but anyone that says anything false about me and I have evidence, then I have a right to defend myself… JUST FOR THE RECORD GUYS! JUDE and PAUL written through a lawyer and are doing everything possible to take the song down from all music platforms. But I will fight to the end.”
The dispute highlights the ongoing tension between the brothers, who split in 2017 due to irreconcilable differences, leaving fans divided over their individual music careers.
The controversy also raises questions about copyright and intellectual property rights within the Nigerian music industry.
As the feud intensifies, it remains uncertain whether the twins will resolve their differences or continue their separate paths in the entertainment world.
