Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has addressed the controversy surrounding her collaboration with Yul Edochie in a recently released movie.
The actress, who has been vocal about her disapproval of Yul’s actions in his personal life, clarified her stance after facing criticism online.
The backlash stemmed from the release of a movie clip featuring both Sarah and Yul.
Many were surprised by the pairing, given Sarah’s past ties to Judy Austin, Yul’s second wife, and her support for May, Yul’s estranged first wife.
This led some fans to accuse Sarah of hypocrisy and pretending to be at odds with Yul.
Responding to the criticism, Sarah explained that the movie in question was produced two years ago, long before her fallout with Yul. She stated that the clip was only uploaded online last week, which caused the misunderstanding.
In a statement on her social media, Sarah clarified her professional stance:
“This movie was produced two years ago and uploaded last week. I have no business with Yul and his cohorts. Being in enmity with a colleague doesn’t stop me from working with them, provided it’s not my personal production. So, please, be guided.”
Sarah emphasized that her disagreements with Yul on a personal level do not affect her professional obligations, especially for projects where she is not the producer.
She urged critics to “borrow sense” and avoid making unfounded assumptions about her intentions.
The actress’s response has sparked mixed reactions, with some fans supporting her explanation while others continue to question her stance.
