There was mild tension in the Sango area of Ogun State on Monday, September 9, when Nigerian singer Portable allegedly slapped a pastor who was evangelizing outside his bar.
A viral video captured the moment Portable, during an Instagram Live session, noticed the pastor preaching near his establishment.
Expressing frustration that the religious activities were disturbing his customers, he instructed one of his staff members to ask the pastor to leave.
Portable further stated that he follows his own traditional rituals and did not want anyone praying for him.
The situation reportedly escalated when Portable took matters into his own hands by allegedly slapping the pastor, in an attempt to discourage further preaching outside his bar.
The incident has stirred mixed reactions online, with some defending Portable’s actions, while others condemned the confrontation as excessive.
As of the time of this report, neither the pastor involved nor Portable’s management has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
