In a new report reaching Becksblog.com.ng, popular Nigerian social media activist Verydarkblackman, also known as VDM, has publicly criticized several high-profile Nigerian celebrities for donating large sums of money to controversial crossdresser Bobrisky while he was serving a prison sentence.
VDM, who is known for his outspoken views, questioned the motives behind the donations, stating, “I’ve lost respect for everyone on that list. What’s the benefit of giving Bobrisky that money? Are you guys promoting homosexuality in Nigeria?”
Bobrisky, who was sentenced to six months in prison for naira mutilation—a crime involving the abuse of the Nigerian currency—allegedly received over N64 million from various celebrities during his time in jail.
Among those who reportedly contributed were actress Funke Akindele, singer Tiwa Savage, music producer Don Jazzy, and several other prominent figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
The controversy has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many questioning the ethics and implications of such a substantial financial support for someone convicted of breaking the law.
