In a heartfelt tribute celebrating his 27th wedding anniversary, legendary rapper Snoop Dogg addressed the criticism that some men face for openly loving and supporting their partners.
Speaking candidly, Snoop took aim at those who label men as “simps” for prioritizing their relationships and providing for their families.
“Some men think loving your woman and doing everything for her makes you a simp,” Snoop said, reflecting on the pressure men face from society. He emphasized that, for over 27 years, he has been fully committed to his wife, noting that he’s never been interested in knowing her salary. “I work and take care of the family. She loves and gives me all kinds of support.”
Snoop rejected the notion that a man should split responsibilities with his partner equally, stating that “you are a weak man if you’re doing 50/50 with a woman.”
He urged men to “man up” and care for their families without hesitation, adding, “There is nothing I’ll not do for my wife, and I’m not going to protect my resources—my wife is not a stranger.”
As he celebrated nearly three decades of marriage, Snoop reaffirmed his commitment to his wife, concluding, “Today I celebrate her, and I will always do.”
