Sophia Momodu, the mother of music star Davido’s first child, has reportedly submitted a 102-paragraph affidavit opposing his request for joint custody of their daughter, Imade.
Prior to his traditional wedding, Davido filed a lawsuit seeking joint custody, accusing Sophia of denying him access to their daughter and making financial demands.
Davido claimed that their previous co-parenting agreement was not being honored, citing instances where Sophia refused his housing offer and demanded a monthly rent of N5 million, among other issues.
In response, Sophia stated that she had a relationship with Davido from 2020 to 2022 while he was involved with Chioma. She denied restricting access to Imade, asserting that Davido had not tried to see their daughter and had distanced himself after she declined to engage in sexual relations with him.
Recent reports indicate that Sophia’s legal team, Dr. Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorneys and Dr. Bimpe Ajegbomogun, filed the detailed affidavit challenging Davido’s custody bid.
The next court hearing for the former couple is scheduled for Friday, July 5, 2024.
