Nigerian musician Speed Darlington has been confirmed to be in police custody, following a petition reportedly filed by Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy.
This revelation was made by prominent Nigerian lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, through a statement on his Facebook page on Tuesday, October 8.
According to Adeyanju, Speed Darlington was arrested in Lagos last week and has since been transferred to Abuja, where he remains in detention.
The lawyer further stated that he had spent about 30 minutes with Speed Darlington, during which the musician shared details of his arrest.
“Speed Darlington narrated how he was arrested in Lagos last week, moved around, and eventually brought to Abuja, where he has been detained ever since. We can confirm that the petition against him was written by Burna Boy,” Adeyanju wrote.
Becksblog earlier reported that Speed Darlington had gone missing following a public altercation with Burna Boy.
The incident was sparked after Speed Darlington made comments regarding Burna Boy and Sean “Diddy” Combs, following the latter’s recent arrest over sex trafficking allegations.
As the story unfolds, more details are expected regarding the reasons behind Burna Boy’s petition and the legal proceedings that may follow.
