Nigerian music video director and cinematographer, ThankGod Omori Jesam, widely known as TG Omori or Boy Director, has shared heartbreaking news about the failure of his recent kidney transplant.
The award-winning director initially revealed on social media that the surgery, which took place at St. Nicolas Hospital in Lagos, was unsuccessful.
Omori, who had previously disclosed that his only brother had donated a kidney to him following his kidney failure a year ago, took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to update his followers.
“One year after my kidney crashed, I just had a failed transplant at St. Nicolas Lagos. Pray for me. Went into this theater 3 times, wasn’t just destined to die today,” he wrote.
This revelation comes just hours after he had posted about the transplant, expressing gratitude to his brother for giving him a second chance at life.
“Yesterday, my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again,” TG Omori had posted.
The 28-year-old director also took to Instagram to express his fears, sharing an image of himself in a hospital bed, receiving oxygen, and visibly distressed. “I don’t wanna die, keep my spirit alive,” he captioned the post.
TG Omori, known for his vibrant and creative work in the Nigerian music industry, has been absent from the public eye in recent times, fueling concerns among fans.
He had been dropping subtle hints about his health struggles on social media, including a tweet last month that read, “If I cross your mind, sometimes say a prayer for me.”
As his health battle continues, fans and colleagues have flooded social media with prayers and messages of support for the beloved director, hoping for his swift recovery.
