Award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwatope Savage Balogun, better known as Tiwa Savage, recently shared that she receives more romantic attention from women than men.
The Afrobeat star revealed this surprising detail during an interview on Beat 99.9 FM, which was monitored by our correspondent.
“I don’t know why, but a lot more women hit on me than men. I don’t know why,” Tiwa admitted, discussing the unexpected trend with candor.
In the same interview, the 44-year-old artist addressed fans’ opinions on the “Big 4” of Afrobeats—a distinction that would expand the “Big 3,” typically consisting of Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido.
With confidence in her talent, Tiwa stated she should be regarded as the “Big One” rather than just part of a “Big 4.”
“Do not get me started,” she asserted. “If we were to go talent for talent, mic for mic, I am the big one.
If we take off the numbers, whatever it is you want to judge the Big 3, you can’t see me on the mic. I’m sorry, but that’s what it is.”
Tiwa Savage’s storied career in Afrobeat has earned her numerous awards and solidified her status as one of the genre’s queens, making her a defining figure in Nigerian and global music alike.
