Haitian police arrested two Nigerian nationals on Sunday, August 18, for possession of fraudulent Haitian National Identification Cards.
The suspects, identified as Madukanze Kenneth, 31, and Henry Peter, 29, were detained in Jacmel, a city in the southeastern region of Haiti.
According to a report by iciHaiti, Kenneth was found carrying an ID card with the name “Augustin Jerry,” while Peter was in possession of an ID card under the name “Junior Jean Pierre.”
The South East Police Department in Haiti announced the arrests via social media, reiterating their commitment to cracking down on illegal activities and maintaining public order.
The department stated that they would continue to work “tirelessly” to ensure lawbreakers are brought to justice.
The incident highlights ongoing challenges related to identity fraud and illegal immigration in Haiti.
The authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the investigation or the potential legal consequences the suspects may face.
