Activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), through his lawyer Deji Adeyanju, has refuted allegations that he defamed renowned Nigerian lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, in the wake of legal threats from Falz, Femi’s son.
Falz had issued a 24-hour ultimatum, demanding VDM remove allegedly libellous claims, which included unfounded homosexual insinuations involving Bobrisky.
Falz also stated that VDM had not communicated with him before publishing the claims.
In a response letter, VDM’s lawyer denied any defamation of Femi Falana, stating that VDM respects the legal icon.
The activist had reportedly published audio recordings involving Bobrisky, intending to prompt an investigation into the matter.
According to the statement, Falz had validated some of the information in his legal communication.
The letter further stressed VDM’s position:
“Our client denies defaming Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, but asserts that he only published the said communication to prompt relevant authorities to investigate the serious allegations made by Mr. Okuneye [Bobrisky], especially as some aspects have been confirmed by Mr. Folarin Falana [Falz].”
